Additionally, two battalions of Black soldiers stood alongside Andrew Jackson during the Battle of New Orleans, a pivotal moment in the war. Their presence and unwavering dedication played a crucial role in the ultimate defeat of the British forces. It was during this time that Jackson issued his famous proclamation to the Black troops on December 18, 1814, in New Orleans.
